Day 2

Today was a beautiful day. Today, I was surrounded by good.. And I shared some as well... Today, I sent flowers to some dear friends..just to tell them how much they've inspired me. Today, I spent the day with all of my team, celebrating the holidays, and, each other.. we collected toys and gifts for three families, clefted enough household things to make 10 welcome home baskets for habitat for humanity and made 15 treat bags for families who have to spend the holidays i. the hospital. Grateful for what I have..Thankful for the people in my life. Trying to give back a little every day. What did you do today?

Day 1.

Today, my random act of kindness was to chat with the security guard for our building at 630 a.m. when I came into work. I see her all the time. She's quiet, always roaming the halls. This morning, I actively sought her out and asked her how her weekend was. We chatted for only a few minutes. She was busy all weekend with her kids. She wished me a good day, and I wished her one in return. It is 9:47 am CST and I've already done something out of my norm. It feels good to stop and connect with a stranger. What will you do today?

It is time. Join me in celebrating kindness.

I've been thinking a lot since the horrible tragedy in CT on Friday... and I think that it is time. it is time to stop. To think. To open doors for people. To take the time to say thank you. I have hundreds of facebook friends, thousands of business connections. If each and every one of us took the time out of each day to do one thing. One random act of kindness..imagine the impact we could have on society. Will you join me? For the next year and beyond, I commit to making sure that every day,.I do at least one good thing for someone else. And I'll write about it.. But it takes a village, and I'm hopeful that many of you will come on this journey with me. I prefer random acts of kindness to senseless acts of violence, so lets talk about the kindness.

It has been a long journey over the last year, so I've decided that it is time to start being aware of kindness again. Last night, at my new job, working late, I was wondering why I do what I do...
I started thinking about the why..I reminded myself that what I do every day is to help people understand the health care system..I help people understand how to best use their benefits. I help people figure out how to get the care they need and how to afford it. I am thankful for being lucky enough to have found employment that allows me to make a living while allowing me to be altruistic.
